Gandalf Entertains Family and Friends
Dear Joeleen and the Camper King Team,
Living with Karen is so wonderful as I never know where I am going to go next or what I am going to do! I love being a Campervan and though I never thought I’d say it, I also enjoy being a day van now too!
One Monday evening in early June Karen picked her Great Niece Elicia up after she finished work and we drove to a lovely Campsite in the Lake District called Brothers Water.
It was really beautiful and peaceful being surrounded by the mountains and we stayed for 2 nights. After a leisurely breakfast on the 1st morning we drove into Bowness-on-Windermere for the day.
Karen has a place for everything inside me, and in no time at all we can be on the road, so the freedom this gives us is wonderful.
The following day we called at Aira Force Waterfall, Pooley Bridge and then had a picnic on the shores of Lake Ullswater before watching the sunset and heading home.
On Sunday 22nd June we went into Wales for the day with Karen’s friends Clive and Barbara and their dog Molly, to celebrate what would have been her late husband Steve’s 65th Birthday. They planned to go for a walk and come back to have Cheese and Biscuits on the Great Orme, though at one point I was surrounded by sheep and panicked that they’d get to the cheese first! But I stayed very still and they just walked by.
Then we drove to Newborough on Angelsey where they took Molly for a walk along the beautiful beach with fantastic views across to the Mountains while I just relaxed.
It was a beautiful warm, sunny evening and when they came back there was a lot of activity around my tailgate. Clive attached something to the back of me, while Karen and Barbara were busy getting things out of the fridge and cupboards. after a short time there were lovely aromas of food cooking and we were having something called a BBQ! Everyone enjoyed it, even though it was all Veggie!! Even Molly liked the Veggie sausage and burgers, I’ve never seen a dog so close before but she was lovely and very well behaved inside me!!
Entertaining and making people happy is such a wonderful thing, as Clive and Barbara said how brilliant I was and what a fabulous day they’d had. Most importantly they thought Steve would be very proud of Karen for fulfilling their retirement dream by buying me. It was a really lovely, if poignant day, and I didn’t even mind that we were driving home!
Until next time, Lots of Love Gandalf xxxx
